Today I would like to introduce you to Daniel: my husband, business partner, and the future chef of mar.iel.
From Dedication to a Return to Craftsmanship
Daniel, a true "Missianer" (a native of Missiano), learned the culinary arts from scratch and went on to specialize as a dietary-trained chef. His love for the kitchen is deeply rooted, even though a brief deviation into the construction industry tested his resolve.
His greatest driving force is family. He does everything for our children and for me – this dedication is the foundation of our joint endeavor.
Success is Built Together!
Since 2014, Daniel has successfully managed his own restaurants, from the first one in Cornaiano (Girlan) to the Panholzer on Lake Caldaro.
Daniel always strives to be the driving force that keeps the business moving and leads the way. But he knows well that this only works with a strong team and our partnership – and he is grateful for that! Behind every dish is a dedicated crew and a genuine hands-on mentality.
Daniel is a master of classic cuisine at the stove, but he is also an excellent team player: he helps out in the service area and doesn't shy away from jumping in when needed in the wash-up area.
The Goal: mar.iel 2027
Now we are returning to our roots in Cornaiano. In 2023, we purchased the historic Bürgerstube. We are currently investing all our energy into its renovation for mar.iel, which is scheduled to open in 2027.
It’s a challenge we can only master together – and we are hugely looking forward to welcoming you soon to the new mar.iel!
Stay tuned for more insights into our life and experiences! Your Martina
